Zara Tindall recalls first interaction with husband Mike

Zara Tindall has made some surprising marriage secrets with Mike Tindall.

The niece of King Charles has been married to the former England rugby player for more than 13 years now.

Speaking to Mirror, Zara revealed that she wasn’t really impressed by Mike when they first crossed paths in 2003.

Zara also shared about their earliest interaction, saying, “I was out with some mates. We went out to watch the Rugby World Cup.”

“We went around the harbour and they were all very drunk and were like ‘England are staying in that hotel’ I walked past the restaurant and I saw Austin Healey. The girls went to Austin and dropped my name and told him where they were going to be,” she said, adding that Austin came for a drink and brought Mike and Martin Corrigan with him.

Zara, the daughter of Princess Anne, added that Mike thought of her as “a bit boring.”

“When Austin left and I was told ‘He wants to call you after the final’. I was like ‘that is a bit keen. They have not even got through the semis yet,’” Zara said.

She further recalled Mike texting her the whole time to ‘come for a drink’ and then when she walked into the bar at 8AM “all the England guys were in there and Mike was walking out with this girl and he was like ‘come for a drink’. I was like ‘I have got to go home.’”

“To this day he said that he only went and raided her fridge!” Zara hilariously added.

Zara Tindall and Mike eventually began dating, and in 2011, they tied the knot.

Now, the royal couple share three children, Mia, 11, Lena, 6, and Lucas, 4.
