Kate Middleton on Wednesday shared her cancer recovery during a visit to Colchester Hospital.

According to royal observers, the Princess' conversation with patients should address both concerns and criticism that followed her absence from Royal Ascot recently.

Kate had skipped her scheduled attendance on the second day at the eleventh hour, sparking concern about her wellbeing. But some critics went as far as to target the royal for what they called the royal's lack of interest in royal duties.

However, a video of the royal speaking to the patients at the medical facility came as befitting response to some insensitive takes on her reduced number of duties and her absence from important royal events.

Talking to the cancer patients at the hospital on Wednesday, the Princess of Wales spoke of the ‘rollercoaster’ of cancer recovery, the pressure to show brave-faced stoicism when the truth is you aren’t able to function at home normally."

“You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home,” she said during her visit to the RHS Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital.

The wife of Prince William said, “You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment, treatments done, then it's like 'I can crack on, get back to normal' but actually the phase afterwards is really, is really you know difficult you're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.. And actually someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment I think is really valuable.”

Kate’s visit included planting flowers to highlight the therapeutic benefits of nature and promote awareness of its significance in enhancing physical and mental health.

The Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital also received roses named after her.
