The singer responsible for performing at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding has just shed some light into what her intial meeting was like with the now-Prince of Wales.

The singer in question is Ellie Goulding and she performed for the royal couple on the eve of their wedding, a cover of Elton John’s track, Your Song.

The 1971 classic ended up being the same song Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez chose for their big day as well.

Recalling her nerves at the time of the meeting Goulding told Fox News Digital, “I knew they liked my songs, but I didn’t walk away from meeting William thinking it might lead to a gig at Buckingham Palace.”

But “then I got a phone call suggesting there might be something in the offing, but I didn’t tell anyone for a long time.”

Despite not being asked “to stay quiet,” the singer admitted "I thought it best to keep things under my hat” because “I knew there would be massive interest in the wedding, so I wanted to keep something private. In the end, somebody leaked it, but I’m glad we managed to keep it under wraps for a while.”

She even took a trip down memory lane and recalled that night in her own words.

According to the singer, “performing the first dance of the night, ‘Your Song' was nerve-wracking. But William and Kate were very appreciative.”

She even gushed over the kind of couple Prince William and Kate Middleton made during her concluding remarks, admitting that “they are an awesome couple and told me how much they enjoyed it. My band and I stayed at the reception all night, and it’s something I’ll treasure forever.”
