Global web infrastructure provider Cloudflare reportedly went dark on Friday, causing worldwide disruptions and taking down some of the major websites and online services.

"Cloudflare is investigating issues with Cloudflare dashboard and related APIs," read an official statement issued by the global internet network provider. In light of the affected aspects of Cloudflare's vast network, users encountered 500 Internal Server Errors, failed requests, or broken integrations.

According to Downdetector, an independent outage tracker, the Cloudflare downtime peaked at around 1:00 am (PST) on December 5 (Friday). 

As can be seen in the screengrab below, over 300 users flagged disruptions with Cloudflare's network.

For the unversed, Cloudflare is a major provider of internet infrastructure and website security. It officially acknowledged the outage in a status update statement, stating that their portal was experiencing issues, and customers might encounter errors while accessing online services.
