Shortly after taking the internet down on Friday, the Cloudflare outage has reportedly been resolved after disrupting Spotify, numerous major websites and online services worldwide.
The Cloudflare downtime was caused by issues with Cloudflare's dashboard and related applications, leading to widespread frustration. With the Cloudflare outage in place, users encountered 500 Internal Server Errors, failed requests, and broken integrations.
The Cloudflare service disruption peaked at around 1:00am Pacific Standard Time on December 5, according to Downdetector, an independent outage tracker.
Disruptions with Cloudflare's dashboard and related APIs affected professional networking site LinkedIn, digital currency exchange Coinbase, and online publishing platform Substack.
Other online services that went dark during the now-resolved Cloudflare outage include e-commerce giant Shopify, banking institution HSBC, and food delivery service Deliveroo, with Downdetector noting a sudden hike in user complaints at approximately 9:16 am (London time).
The company quickly issued an update stating that it had “implemented a fix” and was investigating the issue.
This incident was a huge one, coming less than three weeks after a similar Cloudflare blackout took over the world of the internet, which Cloudflare had deemed “unacceptable”.
As of now, the outage has been resolved, and Cloudflare is monitoring its systems to prevent any further issues from taking place.
