FIFA has officially named TikTok as its Preferred Platform in a groundbreaking partnership to improve the FIFA World Cup 2026 experience.
The collaboration gives TikTok exclusive rights to provide expanded coverage of the biggest soccer tournament worldwide, including behind-the-scenes access and interactive fan experiences.
Slated to run the entire 2026, this partnership signifies a unique approach to how football’s biggest event will be experienced digitally, with TikTok playing a central role in connecting fans and creators to the World Cup beyond traditional live broadcasting of the matches.
Part of the agreement is that TikTok will offer comprehensive coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, featuring a wider range of original content and community-driven football experiences.
The Chinese-owned short-video platform will host an immersive FIFA World Cup 2026 hub, powered by TikTok GamePlan which allows fans to discover engaging content that brings the 48-team tournament to life.
This hub will also provide essential information on match tickets and viewing options, along with participation perks like custom stickers, filters, and gamification features.
TikTok and FIFA will also introduce a structured global creator programme, granting selected creators access to exclusive behind-the-scenes moments, including press conferences and training sessions.
“This collaboration will connect more fans across the globe to the FIFA World Cup in unprecedented ways,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström.
TikTok’s Global Head of Content James Stafford expressed excitement about connecting fans to the tournament with the help of exclusive content and greater creator access.
