King Charles’s Office shared an update as the monarch opened his doors to some important people and presented them with honours at Windsor Castle.

The King held an investiture ceremony on Tuesday, which recognised the individuals who have contributed to the British society.

One of the distinguished recipients had been Carey Mulligan, who had received her CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to drama and charity. It is considered the highest-ranking Order of the British Empire award.

The Beef actress received the award from the King, who placed the medal on her blazer and took a moment to chat with her.

“I feel so unbelievably lucky to get to do a job that I really, really love,” she said after receiving the award. “To have this kind of recognition on top, is just sort of extraordinary to me.”

In another interview, she also complimented how the King was “really charming” as he spoke to her about what she had been doing.

The Palace also had shared a congratulations for all the recipient with highlights of memorable moments.

Apart from Carey, Hilary McGrady also received a CBE for Services to Heritage.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Edwards became an OBE for Services to Survivors of Disasters to Charity and to the community in Aberfan.
