The latest development in Prince Harry's security battle could deepen his rift with King Charles and Prince William, according to a new report.
The Duke of Sussex allegedly believes his dad, King Charles, and brother, William, have been playing their part amid his legal battle in the UK.
"Harry was led to believe there would be progress on his security, and instead it feels like the door is being quietly closed on him again." A source claimed to Closer.
They went on: "Harry genuinely feels like he’s been betrayed by his dad and his brother.
"It feels very much like Charles and William have closed ranks - they want to keep him at arm’s length. He feels like there were assurances about his security and now suddenly, there’s hesitation, delays, complications."
It has been reported that the Home Office fears a public backlash if they reinstate Harry and his family's taxpayer-funded security.
Meghan Markle's husband is reportedly upset and tearful that the delay in his UK security decision is not accidental.
"He believes there are forces within the establishment who simply don’t want him back in the fold," according to the source.
It comes as the Sussexes’ forthcoming trip to the UK, for an event to celebrate the year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games this July, has been billed as one which could mark a new chapter for the former royals and their relationship with his family.
And now, an insider says, "The Invictus Games has been touted as a moment where Harry and Meghan’s kids could be introduced more publicly. But right now, those plans are on hold."
They added: "Nothing will happen until the security issue is resolved. They are not willing to take that risk. Meghan won’t come if the situation isn’t sorted and the children certainly won’t."
The Duke, who's the youngest son of King Charles, sees his children as just as important to the future of the monarchy as George, Charlotte and Louis."
The source said: "He doesn’t see them as separate from that story."
Harry's visit to Britain is being considered as an opportunity for him to reach any sort of reconciliation with his father, King Charles.
