‘Time Traveler' who claims he visited 3700 warns of AI robot apocalypse with‘Proof'

A man claiming to be a time traveler has warned that artificial intelligence will eventually turn against humans and start a war to wipe out life on Earth.

The bizarre claim isn't new either. The man, who identified himself only as “Mike,” first told his story in a 2018 interview with YouTube channel ApexTV, years before the recent explosion in AI development.

Mike claimed he had worked on secret projects in Canada and was part of a group that managed to travel as far into the future as the year 3700.

What he says he found there wasn't pretty.

According to Mike, robots had already taken over much of the work done by humans by the year 3000. But 700 years later, AI-powered machines realised they were more powerful than their creators and turned against them.

“The war between humans and robots was very unequal,” he claimed.

Mike said more than 30% of humanity was killed, while survivors were forced to hide in forests and caves. The machines eventually began burning forests to flush them out, he alleged.

And he even brought along what he called “proof.”

During the interview, Mike showed a small mechanical arm with pincers, claiming he had taken it from a robot he personally destroyed in the future.

There is, however, no evidence supporting his story or showing that the object actually came from a futuristic robot.

In fact, the channel where his claims originally appeared became known for extraordinary videos involving supposed time travelers, aliens and other unverified phenomena.

What has brought Mike's eight-year-old warning back into attention is what AI researchers are saying now.

Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon warned this week that people building advanced AI genuinely believe there is a possibility the technology could eventually kill humanity.

Anthropic researcher Evan Hubinger publicly echoed the concern, saying he believes AI could potentially kill all humans.
