Ed Sheeran cancels two New England concerts: Here are full details

Ed Sheeran has cancelled his two concerts that were scheduled for this weekend at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, following severe weather warnings across the region.

The shows were scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the home of the New England Patriots, but were called off as a nor’easter forecast to bring coastal flooding, heavy rain, and wind gusts up to 60 mph barrels toward the East Coast.

Organisers said the decision was made “with the safety of fans, staff, and everyone involved in the shows as the top priority” following consultations with local officials.

Ticketmaster will automatically refund ticketholders, while those who purchased through other vendors can obtain immediate refunds.

The cancellation comes amid wider turmoil surrounding Sheeran’s “Loop” tour. Previously, rapper Macklemore was removed as a supporting act after making pro-Palestinian comments on stage, including calling for “free Palestine” and referring ot “genocide” in Gaza.

Macklemore said his removal was directed by Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who accused the rapper of hate speech. Other opening acts, including Finneas, Lukas Graham, and Aaron Rowe, withdrew in protest.

Ticket holders can secure their refunds through Ticketmaster, where it is automatically refunding all tickets purchased through its platform. If you have purchased tickets through a different original vendor, you can obtain an immediate refund at your point of purchase. As per Ticketmaster policy, refunds must be requested at least 24 hours before the show’s scheduled start time.
