Josh Hartnett reveals his kids have never seen any of his movies

Josh Hartnett is revealing a quirky detail about his home life, despite a nearly three-decade acting career, his four children have yet to watch a single one of his films. 

Speaking to E! News at the September 29 New York City premiere of his new movie Verity, Hartnett said plainly, "My kids have never seen me in anything."

Hartnett, who shares his four children, ranging in age from 11 to 2, with wife Tamsin Egerton, said the kids simply haven't shown much curiosity about his work, despite some of their peers having seen his films. 

"I know some of their friends have seen me in movies, but [my kids] haven't shown that much interest," he said. 

Still, he left the door open to them eventually watching something of his down the line, just not anytime soon. 

Hartnett framed the separation between his career and family life as intentional and, in his view, healthy, explaining his broader philosophy, "When you have a lot of kids, you can't bring it home."

Hartnett and Egerton have long kept their children largely out of the public eye, including declining to share their names publicly, and the family relocated from Los Angeles to England's Hampshire countryside years ago in pursuit of a quieter lifestyle. 

Hartnett has previously said he never felt at home in L.A. and has spoken about not necessarily wanting his kids to follow him into acting.
