Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez’s latest custody battle is getting even more complicated, with private text messages between the exes now appearing in court documents.
Martinez, 60, has requested a temporary restraining order against Berry, 60, alleging she caused him “emotional and mental distress due to physical abuse of our minor child, Maceo.”
In the filing, Martinez claimed Berry physically abused their 12-year-old son on September 26, alleging she jumped on him, put her hands around his neck and choked him.
He described it as “the latest incident of abuse,” while alleging there had been other incidents.
The filing also includes messages that show tensions between Berry and Maceo.
After Martinez told her their son wanted to leave early, Berry allegedly responded, “No I’m not ok with it. He wants to fight his mother?? What kind of kid are we raising.”
She later wrote, “I’m his mother?” and, in another message, said, “I’m just money bags! This is wrong and wrong!”
The following day, Berry reportedly reached out again.
“I feel terrible about what happened last night as I know he does as well,” she wrote.
Berry’s attorney Marina Beck strongly rejected Martinez’s allegations, calling the filing “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.”
Martinez’s attorney Patrick Baghdaserians, however, said his client’s “paramount concern is the health, welfare and the safety of the minor child.”
The former couple divorced in 2023 after nearly eight years of proceedings and currently share legal custody of Maceo. Berry also shares daughter Nahla, 18, with ex Gabriel Aubry.
The allegations remain disputed, and the custody proceedings are ongoing.
