Ed Sheeran offered huge £1m prize to settle family feud

Ed Sheeran has been offered £1 million to step into the boxing ring with his cousin Jethro as their family feud takes another turn.

The singer, 35, could face Jethro, 44, in a celebrity boxing match that could take place in London next February.

The unusual offer comes after years of bad blood between the two cousins. Jethro, who performs as Alonestar, has now said he would be happy to face Ed in the ring.

He said: “I’m well up for fighting Ed. I am happy to climb in the ring with Ed to try and settle our differences.

“Many boxers have a bruising match but hug at the end whoever wins. So you never know. I have already spoken to a trainer about setting up camp. Providing all safety protocols are in place. As far as I’m concerned, let’s get it on.”

Jethro has even spoken to former boxing champion Joe Calzaghe about training for the possible fight.

The family problems began in 2014 after Jethro claimed Ed’s record label stopped him from using Ed’s name on a remix.

Now the proposed fight comes as another row surrounds Ed and rapper Macklemore.

Macklemore was removed from Ed’s US tour, but Ed has said the decision was made by the promoters and not by him.
