Electricity shortfall at 6000MW

ISLAMABAD: At least 17 powerhouses have stopped operations due to unavailability of gas and fuel, increasing the electricity shortfall to 6000MW.

The provincial capital, Lahore among others is facing loadshedding of around 12-18 hours. According to the Pepco officials, power generation stood at 8,500MW.

Hub power and Kot Addu are working at half of their capacity and this situation would continue until the desired funds are released, they said.
