PPP, allies request Fazl to withdraw from PM election
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the coalition parties have requested JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to withdraw his name from prime minister election, Geo News reported.

However, Maulana replied that he would consult his party leaders before giving his assent.

Senior PPP leader Khurshid Shah along with other allied party leaders met Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence.

Talking to media persons after the meeting Shah said they had come to request Maulana sahib to withdraw his name from the PM election in favour of their candidate, Raja Pervez Ashraf.

The JUI-F chief said it would have been better if he was approached before the announcement of candidate.
