Afridi gets warning from PCB over 'policy statement'
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday issued warning to veteran all rounder and T20 captain Shahid Afridi, asking him to refrain from giving policy statements.

Shahid Afridi on Thursday issued a statement in what PCB has termed violation of its code of conduct. "There is no problem in playing in India if the series benefits Pakistan.”

PCB made it cleat that it would not compromise on its discipline regardless of which player is violating it.

PCB has also stopped Shahid Afridi from making such statements in future. "No player can pass any statement on policy matters", PCB said.

Talking to Geo Super Thursday, star all-rounder backed the stance of PCB chairman Sheheryar Khan and said Pakistan can play limited-overs cricket in India but only after cricket board gets written guarantees from Indian Cricket Board.

“The last time we went to India in 2012-13 the BCCI earned millions of rupees and we got nothing,” he said.

Afridi further added that if the BCCI comes up with a written guarantee to share the revenues with Pakistan then the series can be played in India.

It may be noted here that the BCCI said on Wednesday that it was not in favour of either playing the series in Pakistan or UAE but it could be held in India.
