9 arrested in Sohrab Goth police raids

KARACHI: Police in their continuing raids have arrested nine accused and recovered weapons from them, following yesterday’s two groups’ clash in Sohrab Goth area here, Geo News reported.

Gadap Town SP, Jan Mohammad said that yesterday two groups quarreling over some cash transaction traded gunshots at Jannat Gul Town behind Al-Asif Square here, killing 4 persons and wounded 5. When the police started raids for the arrest of culprits, they targeted the police and fired on the vehicle of Gadap SP, while two police men including SHO Sultan Mehsud were injured, who were shifted to a private hospital for medical aid.

Gadap SP said that yesterday seven persons were arrested during the raids, while two key-culprits including Abdul Qadir were rounded up Sunday morning and weapons recovered from them.

Police raids still continuing, while additional contingents of police have been deployed at Sohrab Goth, Al-Asif Square and on Super Highway in view of the law and order situation in these areas.
