LK Advani learning Arabic to understand Islam

BANGALORE: According to media reports, veteran Indian politician and former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is learning Arabic to comprehend the true spirit of Islam.

Speaking at a function organised to commemorate the centenary birth celebration of renowned linguist Professor G Venkasubbaiah at NMKRV college auditorium in Jayanagar, the BJP said he wanted to read the Quran in its original form.

The octogenarian leader, who has read the translated versions of Quran in Hindi and English, is now devoting time to read the original Quran in Arabic.

“I want to read the original script and understand it,” said Advani.
