KARACHI: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has suspended mobile phone services in Karachi from 11 am to 6 pm Friday (today), Geo News reported.
According to sources, the mobile phone services have been suspended without any prior notice, causing immense communication difficulties to the citizens.
It was also reported that the mobile phone services are likely to be suspended in Peshawar as well.
Sources told that the cellular services were suspended in the backdrop of some suspected terrorism in the two cities.
Interior Ministry sources add that there was a threat of mobile phones being used to detonate remote controlled explosives in Karachi.
