Karachi: Four injured in Lyari unrest

KARACHI: Four persons were injured in firing incidents that occurred in Hanguabad and Agra Taj Colony areas, Geo News reported Monday.

According to police, Lyari, Kharadar and neighboring areas reverberated with heavy gunfire and explosions as unrest continued in the troubled area of metropolis.

At least five back-to-back hand grenade attacks shook Khadda Market and nearby areas late night while firing continued in Naya Abad, Moosa Lane, ICI Bridge and Kharadar areas. The miscreants also used rockets and bombs in the clashes, witnesses told.

No loss of life and property has been reported from the hand grenade attacks so far.

Eight persons were also held after police launched search operation in Patel Para and adjoining areas. Police sources told that arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

Police also claimed that the accused belonged to a banned outfit and a political party who are currently being interrogated.
