Two dacoits killed in alleged police encounters
KARACHI: Two dacoits were killed and another was held in two alleged police encounters that took place in two different areas of the metropolis early on Saturday morning, Geo News reported.

One of the two alleged police encounters took place in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the metropolis in which one dacoit was killed while another person sustained injuries.

According to the police, four armed robbers tried to break into the house near Johar Maur at Long Life Bungalows, however, police after receiving information rushed to the site and took on the dacoits.

During the exchange of fire between police and robbers, a dacoit was killed while one of the residents got injured when culprits opened fire on them. The injured man, Imran, was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

The other three robbers managed to flee from the scene after the encounter, abandoning their vehicle.

Police have kicked off investigation of the incident.

In another encounter that took place in Mubeena Town, a dacoit was killed and another was arrested while they were escaping after robbing millions of rupees and jewelry from a house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal block 3.

DSP New Town Nasir Lodhi told that two other culprits fled from the scene.

The stolen goods and money were seized by the police while they have launched investigation into the incident.
