KARACHI: The Lyari gang-war, which is raging unabated, claimed 10 more lives on Saturday.
Lyari remained tense the whole day as warring gangs resorted to gun and rocket attacks at each other.
Saturday’s shootings also left 14 injured including Baba Ladla gang’s Shakeel Commando. Sources said that five of the injured were critical.
“Despite the deployment of a large number of police and Rangers the shooting in the narrow lanes of Lyari could not be stopped”, said an eyewitness.
Parts of Lyari, which virtually turned into a combat zone, include Chakiwara, Sango Lane, Eidoo Lane, Phool Patti Lane, Bahar Colony, Cheel Chowk, Dabni Chowk, Al-Falah Road, and Tannery Road.
According to latest reports Rangers, police, and other agencies have set a joint operation in motion to bring the situation under control.
Sources said that all the entry and exit points in the restive areas of Lyari has been sealed and raids were being conducted in search of gangsters.
