New IRSA chief to chair meeting today ISLAMABAD: After his nomination being the new chairman of Indus River System Authority (IRSA), Abdul Raqeeb Khan has convened the maiden meeting of IRSA Authority here afternoon on Wednesday, Geo news reported.

Sources told Geo news that Khyber government nominated Abdul Raqeeb Khan being its member for IRSA, following the acceptance of resignation of former chairman Aman Gul Khatak, who had tendered his resignation yesterday in turn of the point of conflict between Sindh and Punjab government over water distribution issue.

After the issuance of notification regarding his appointment being chairman IRSA, the authority is all set to hold its maiden session under chairmanship of Abdul Raqeeb Khan.

The meeting will hopefully be attended by member Punjab Shafqat Masood, member Sindh Mohammed Khan Memon and the member federal government Basheer Ahmed Dahir, sources told media.

Member Balochistan Mohammed Ameen is likely to miss the meeting being on holidays.
