ISLAMABAD: Federal Food and Agriculture Minister Nazar Muhammed Gondal said there are loss estimates of nearly Rs190 billion as a result of nationwide floods according to the initial report, Geo News reported Monday.
Talking to Geo News, the federal minister said the country would not have shortage of food.
These statistics are not final and under initial research, losses worth over Rs34.83 billion have been estimated under heads of livestock and agriculture in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Crops worth over Rs60 billion in Punjab were spoiled and Rs95 billion worth of crops were destroyed in Sindh.
Nazar Gondal said the surplus produce of wheat in the country has not been sold out in the local market, nor was it exported; accordingly; there is no fear of its dearth across Pakistan. |  | | | |
