KOCHI: West Indies were bowled out for a mere 211 runs in 48.5 overs after an exemplary performance from the Indian bowlers here at the Nehru Stadium on Thursday.

Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina were the star performers of the day as they notched up individual records after a fine show with the ball.

Winning the toss the West Indies elected to bat but suffered an early jolt after Chris Gayle was run-out in the very first over after . Johnson Charles (42) and Marlon Samuels (24) tried to make up for the early loss but Jadeja got rid of Charles to break the crucial partnership for the Windies.

India started dictating terms after Raina scalped Marlon Samuels to embark on a wicket-taking spree that later turned out to be his career-best bowling figures in ODIs. Raina ended his spell with 3/34 after 10 overs, improving his previous best of 2/17.

Ravindra Jadeja also bowled well as he took three wickets in his spell of 10 overs and became the highest wicket-taker in ODIs in 2013, surpassing Pakistan's Saeed Ajmal's tally of 48 wickets this year.

Ravichandran Ashwin contributed with two wickets while Mohammed Shami took one wicket for India.

Darren Bravo was the best batsman for Windies today with a crucial knock of 59 runs off 77 balls.
