DHAKA: India recorded their second successive win defeating West Indies by seven wickets in Group-2 match of the Super Ten Series in the fifth World Twenty20 here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur on Sunday.

Chasing an easy target of 130, India comfortably completed the victory with two balls to spare.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli hit half-centuries as both made 106 runs together for the second wicket partnership after India lost Shikhar Dhawan for nought in the first over of their innings.

Sharma remained not out on 62 while Kohli was bowled by fast bowler Andre Russell for 54.

Earlier, India restricted West Indies to 129 for seven after captain Mahinder Singh Dhoni, winning the toss, put the West Indies into bat.

Chris Gayle and Lendl Simmons were the main scorers with 34 and 27, respectively.

Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja was the most successful bowler who captured three wickets, followed by leg-break bowler Amit Mishra taking two wickets for just 18 runs to earn the Man-of-the-Match award.
