Water level increasing at Guddu Barrage
KASHMORE: The water level is continuously increasing at Guddu barrage after floodwater of Chenab entered in River Indus, Geo News reported.

Several areas of Katcha in Kashmore and more than a dozen villages adjacent to Qadirpur Loop dyke have been inundated.





According to Deputy Commissioner, people from affected areas were being shifted to safe places with the help of more than 30 rescue boats.

Relief camps have been set up at Tori band in Jacobabad and Toti Zardari village in Nawabshah.

APP adds: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the province is not under threat of a super flood.

At a briefing on floods by irrigation officials, Qaim Ali Shah said that strict protective measures had been taken at locations having serious threat.

The chief minister also visited Guddu Barrage and told media persons that 400,000 to 500,000 cusecs of water would pass through Sindh, adding that the condition of protective embankments was satisfactory.

He said that the people living in makeshift houses were being shifted to safer locations.

The chief minister said that people living in Katcha areas in Kashmore, Kandhkot Shikarpur, Sukkur Khairpur, Naushero Feroze, Larkana Benazir Abad and other districts along River Indus had already been asked to shift to safer places or in relief camps.

The staff of irrigation and other relevant departments have been put on high alert to meet any situation, he added.
