Relief teams for Nepal will depart on Sunday
RAWALPINDI: Following Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s instructions to deploy relief teams and support for Nepal after a devastating earthquake on Saturday, the ISPR has confirmed that four C-130’s will depart on Sunday.

The PM house spokesman had said earlier, that the planes were awaiting clearance from Kathmandu airport.

In a statement the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army confirmed, four planes carrying a mobile 30-bed hospital, special search and rescue teams and relief items will be dispatched tomorrow .

The mobile hospital includes a team of Pakistan Army doctors, specialists including Surgical, Medical, Orthopaedic, Gynaecologist, Anaesthesiologist, Child Specialist, Radiologist and Paramedics as well.

Teams departing for Nepal on Sunday will also include an urban search and rescue team which specializes in rescue operations during natural disasters.

The Urban search and rescue team is equipped with ground penetrating radars, concrete cutters and is specially trained to search for people trapped in rubble. The team will also include sniffer dogs.

Food items being dispatched include 2000 ready to eat meal-packs, other edible items, water bottles, medicines, 200 tents, 600 blankets and other necessary items.
