TMQ long mach set to leave any moment

LAHORE: Allama Tahirul Qadri said that the long-march would leave for Islamabad after Zohar pryares, Geo News reported Sunday.

He said this while talking to media outside his residence. Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) chief said that the administration had impounded a large number of vehicles hired by his party for marchers. The long-march would be staged for the rule of law and the Constitution, he added.

A large number of people, including women started gathering at Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran Markaz in Lahore as they prepared for long-march on Islamabad.

Preparations continued throughout the night as activists of the TMQ were seen placing banners and loud speakers on trucks buses and other vehicles they hired for traveling.

The enthusiastic TMQ workers despite cold weather chanted slogans and encouraged each other that they would rid the country of corrupt rulers.

On the other hand, Islamabad has been converted into a military cantonment in the backdrop of Dr Tahirul Qadri's long-march which he announced to stage to get government’s assurance for electoral reforms.

Geo News anchor and senior political commentator Sohail Waraich said the crowd consisted of youth and was more charged as compared to that of TMQ’s 23 December Lahore Jalsa.
