JOHANNESBURG: South Africa reached 68 for the loss of 2 wickets at lunch on the first day of the first test match against Pakistan.
Pakistani bowlers Junaid Khan and Umer Gul bowled good lines, making good use of the new ball and the conditions.
After a cautious start, SA lost both the openers to some good hostile bowling by the Pakistan opening bowlers.
Record breaking birthday boy G.Smith playing in his 100th test as captain could score only 24 before being caught behind off Umar Gul. Junaid accounted for the other opener.
The most prolific SA pair of J.Kallis and Hashim Amla is at the crease and is looking good.
Pakistan need to get this pair out quickly after lunch to put pressure on the well established S.African batting order.
