Sindh education department gets major reshuffles

KARACHI: In a major reshuffle in education boards in Sindh three new heads have been appointed.

According to a notification from the CM House, a new chairman has been appointed for the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK), Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) and Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE).

The BSEK chairman Anwar Ahmed Zai has been replaced by Dr Saeeduddin. The BIEK Chairman Akhtar Ghauri has been replaced by Inam Ahmed. The SBTE chairman Fasih ur Rehman has been replaced by Ahmed Masroor.

Dr Ghulam Mujtaba has been made chairman of the Sukkur Board while Dr Ali Brohi has been made chairman of the Larkana Board.

Sources said that a search committee had sent these names to former CM Qaim Ali Shah but the appointments could not be made due to political problems.

CM Murad Ali Shah made these appointments in view of the education emergency imposed in the province.

The Karachi Inter Board has been in the middle of a corruption scandal in the last few months. Officials from the anti-corruption cell have conducted raids and arrested several employees for interrogation.
