67 suspects detained in operations across Sindh, Punjab

KARACHI: As many as 67 suspects were taken into custody during law enforcement agencies’ search operations in Sindh and Punjab.

Operations were also carried out in different districts of Punjab. During the operations, 47 suspects were taken into custody. Weapons and contrabands were also seized from the suspect’s possession.

Operations in Karachi

About 15 suspects were detained during a Ranger’s search operation in Karachi’s Chanesar Goth. During the operation, the area was cordoned off and house-to-house searches were conducted.

Moreover, a suspect was killed after an exchange of fire with police in Karachi’s Quaidabad area. Weapons, stolen mobile phone and looted valuables were seized from the suspect.

A man, identified as 25-year-old Zafar, was killed after unidentified men opened fire on them. On the other hand, a person was injured after he resisted a robbery attempt in Saeedabad area.

Three suspects were arrested during a search operation within the jurisdiction of Preedy police station. The suspects were allegedly involved in targeted killings, extortion and robberies cases.

According to the Rangers spokesperson, the suspects belonged to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London. Two dacoits were arrested during operations in Jamshed Quarters and Korangi.

CCTV footage of bank robbery

Geo News acquired CCTV footage of robbery at a mobile phone shop on May 17. At 11:15am, three dacoits entered a shop in North Karachi. One of the robbers had hidden the weapons in a plastic bag, he took the pistols out and gave them to the other two.

Within three minutes, the dacoits stole dozens of mobile phones and cash. In the footage, the faces of three dacoits, wearing shalwar kameez, is quite evident.
