KARAK: Rescue workers, aided by heavy machinery, sift through the rubble of a building in the seminary that collapsed early Sunday.

KARAK: A seminary in Karak’s Sabirabad locality collapsed at daybreak on Sunday, leaving at least three students dead, said local authorities.

Three injured students and two teachers were rescued from the rubble and shifted to DHQ Hospital, rescue workers told Geo News.

Removal of debris is still under way to rescue eight students and teachers trapped under the rubble, a police spokesperson said.

The dilapidated structure came down due to the accumulation of rainwater during the ongoing monsoon season that seeped into its foundation, authorities said.

This is a developing story and will be updated as further reports are received.
