Two TTP terrorists killed in CTD encounter in Karachi

KARACHI: Two terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in shootout during an intelligence-based operation jointly conducted by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Rangers in Korangi in early hours of Saturday.

According to CTD SSP Omar Shahid, the terrorists were involved in killing of police officials in Korangi and Abul Hassan Isphani Road.

He added that pamphlets have been recovered from the hideout of the terrorists, stating they were involved in the attack on police on Abul Hassan Isphani Road.

CTD police and Rangers raided a house in Zaman Town of Korangi late Friday night. The terrorists opened fire at the security forces but were gunned down in retaliatory fire.

Sources said the deceased terrorists belonged to Mufti Shakir faction of TTP.

Earlier this week, two other terrorists of the same group were killed in a police encounter in Manghopir.

The terrorists planned to attack places of worship and police personnel, CTD SSP had said.
