ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry said on Friday there is no legal value of the Justice Baqar Najafi Commission Report on the Model Town incident.

Speaking to journalists, Chaudhry said the best thing which can happen from the commission report is the filing of FIR and a trial — both of which have already happened.

He questioned the release of only one commission report, saying "in fact, all the commission reports not disclosed by the state should be made public with their recommendations implemented."

He added that the Sharif family and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is being targeted [by making the report public].

“Many developments with no precedents are taking place nowadays. People predicted that after Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz will be targeted and it is happening now, with the sudden reopening of Hudaibiya and Model Town case,” he claimed.

Without naming any individual or institution, Chaudhry said ‘magicians’ should learn that by targeting genuine political leadership through artificial means and making an alternative political leadership through weak politicians is not good for the stability of Pakistan.

The state minister said that with the political uncertainty in the country, the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is in danger.
