Rangers recover large quantity of arms, ammo in Karachi

The contraband is said to have been hidden by the Baba Ladla Group of Lyari

KARACHI: Rangers conducted a search operation in Memongoth area of the city on Sunday and arrested one suspect besides recovering arms, ammunition and explosives.

A spokesperson of the paramilitary force said the arms were hidden by the Baba Ladla Group — a Lyari-based criminal gang — in an empty tank. 

The spokesperson said the action was taken on an intelligence tip-off. 

The seized contraband includes four sub-machine guns, two 30-bore pistols, one M-16 rifle, one repeater, one 7mm rifle, 21 magazines of various weapons and 891 bullets, according to the spokesperson.
