Three political activists gunned down

KARACHI: Three activists of a political party were gunned down in Mehmoodabad area here on Tuesday.

SHO Mehmoodabad Police Station Ahsan Zulfiqar said that the incident occurred in Street number 02 of Mehmoodabad area when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on Asif, Muneer and Naeem, injuring them and fled. They succumbed to their injuries while way to hospital.

SHO said that the victim Muneer, 45 was the resident of Surjani Town and was a retired excise policeman while Asif and Naeem were residents of Mehmoodabad and employees of Fire Brigade and Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SB), respectively. They were working as enumerators for house-count.

He confirmed said that the victims belonged to a political party.

The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. (PPI)
