ISLAMABAD: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari predicted on Thursday that Prime Minister Imran Khan will not complete his five-year government term.

The PPP leader was addressing a gathering in Badin, where he said that the prime minister is not from the general public and he will not return to them.

“Now that you are a selected prime minister, learn something,” said the former president.

Asif Zardari said that PM Imran has been waging a battle against him due to the 18th amendment, calling it a conspiracy against the public.

“Don’t push us too much against the wall, so that it doesn’t lead to people being out of control,” warned Zardari.

He said that no one accepts PM Imran Khan’s election and he will not be able to complete his tenure, adding that his party will ‘take care of them’.

Earlier today, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari PM Imran Khan does not have the courage to talk face-to-face during Parliament sessions.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Bilawal took a hit at the premier’s tweet from earlier today questioning why some lawmakers are “so scared” of the Exit Control List (ECL).

“We will strongly oppose any action against the 18th Amendment,” he asserted. "No one can snatch the rights that have been granted to provinces," Bilawal stated.

“You are asking for donations to run your government, how will you give Rs14 million to operate hospitals?” he asked.

The PPP chairman further said that the opposition parties will “not allow any compromise on democratic and fundamental rights”. “The government’s allies are also supporting us and soon PTI members will too,” he added.

“After the two previous governments completed their terms, the current government will do so as well,” the PPP chairman stated, presenting a varying opinion from his father, former president Zardari.
