ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Thursday that the opposition doesn’t want to topple the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government despite not accepting its mandate.

Speaking in the national assembly, the PML-N leader said: "the opposition sitting here is mature and experience. We have learnt from our experiences. We want to give you time so that you can fulfil at least 10 percent of your promises."

The former railways minister said that he is not on good terms with Prime Minister Imran Kha, but will genuinely advise him to 'step down from container'.

"From prime minister to branded ministers, everyone is verbally abusing the opposition. It has been over five months with no performance," he said. "My request to the government is to not take opposition alliance as a threat."

Rafique said that he has told the NAB to file a reference against him as soon as possible.

"I am thankful to the quarters who directed the arrest of me and my brothers. I have told NAB that it's very important now to face the reference because my reputation is on the line," he said.
