Geo News obtains CCTV video of tractor-trolley crushing minor boy to death in Lahore

LAHORE: Geo News on Sunday obtained the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of a horrific traffic accident in the Gujjar Pura neighbourhood of the city's Aziz Bhatti Town.

The CCTV video clearly shows that a four-year-old child accompanied by a male adult and running playfully suddenly tries to cross the street, which has a speeding tractor-trolley coming from the side he was walking towards and a motorcycle from the opposing end.

As the child runs ahead, the driver of the tractor-trolley turns sideways to avoid hitting him but the kid, realising midway through the street that he would likely be hit by the motorcycle with two men on it, choose to retrace his steps.

By now, the tractor-trolley has already steered leftward and so tramples the child completely, stopping ahead a few seconds later as it dawned upon the driver that he had crushed him underneath.

The boy died on the spot.

Police have arrested the driver and consequently commenced an investigation into the fatal accident.
