ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N tabled adjournment motion in the National Assembly against the rise in electricity and gas tariffs, Geo News reported Thursday.
The motion stated that these matters of public importance must be debated in the National Assembly.
MNAs of PML-N Pervez Malik, Mrs Nisar Tanvir, Shakir Bashir Awan, Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan, Shireen Arshad and Raja Asad tabled the motion bearing their signatures.
The motion said ironically the rate of poverty is at a record high during rule of the incumbent government that had come into power with a slogan of food, clothing and shelter (Roti, Kapra aur Makan). The government instead of cutting down its lavish spendings, it treating the people like sacrificial animals by raising the prices of electricity and gas in line with IMF conditions.
