Shehbaz Sharif approaches IHC for Nawaz's bail

Shehbaz Sharif filed petition in Islamabad High Court for the release of his brother

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday approached the court for the release of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on bail.

According to Geo News, Shehbaz had filed a petition with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for the release of his brother on medical grounds. 

In his appeal filed with the IHC, Shehbaz has pleaded that Nawaz’s health was very poor and he is in great distress due to various diseases and should be allowed treatment in Pakistan or abroad.

The petition is seeking suspension of the seven-year sentence awarded to the former premier in the Al-Azizia reference.

The former prime minister is currently under treatment at the Services Hospital in Lahore for low blood count where he was admitted on Tuesday.
