Speedster Shoaib Akhtar had warned former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan that he would make him disappear after falling into a trap that the man in blue had set up, India Today reported.

Pathan recalling India's tour of Pakistan from 2005-2006 said that during the second Test in Faisalabad the Rawalpindi Express was on fire and was hurling abuses at them.

The home team had set a substantial target of 588 runs, while India was able to score a mere 288 at the loss of five wickets when MS Dhoni and Pathan's partnership put up 210 more on the scoreboard.

This score was possible after Pathan decided to give Akhtar a taste of his own medicine. The all-rounder asked former Indian captain Dhoni to laugh at everything he said to Akhtar.

This tactic left Akhtar fuming. "Agar baat das hai toh woh bees bolne ki aadat hai". I told Dhoni "I will sledge Akhtar and you just laugh at him" and Dhoni agreed to it. Akhtar continued sledging us and the ball started to reverse.

"That was the time, I sledged Akhtar saying ‘paaji, agla spell me utna hi jaan lagegi?’. Akhtar responded angrily saying, ‘Bahut zyada baat kar raha hai, tereko mai utha lunga yaha se’. I told him he can't talk to me like that as I am also a real Pathan. He somehow completed that spell and that was how we drew that Test," Pathan told Sports Tak.
