According to reports, Dr. Mirza was leaving the hall and getting into the car after addressing a public meeting when some unidentified men attempted to kill him with an iron rod.
Mirza remained unhurt in the attempt. Three other people were injured in the attack.
Dr. Mirza was accompanied by Lord Nazir when they were attacked.
The attackers managed to escape from the scene.
