Reported hostage, looting of passenger bus was hoax

FAISALABAD: What first appeared to be loot and hostage of a passenger bus has now been revealed to be a hoax and police have arrested the person for it.

According to police, the bus of a private company was going Multan from Faisalabad via Chicha Watni when they receive a call of kidnapping of the passengers. Police cordoned off the area and after an hour of search and investigation it was found that the report of making hostage and looting bus passengers was a hoax.

The hoax call was made by passenger Tanvir and he has been taken into custody.

Upon their arrival, the passengers said that someone hit the bus with stone and smashed its window, however, the report of loot and kidnapping was fabricated.

Earlier, it was reported that four armed robbers have looted passengers of a bus after making them hostage near Multan. The armed robbers deprived the passengers of their valuable after making them hostage for two hours and later burst the tyre of bus to escape. The bus was later found from Kachakho near Khanewal.
