DHAKA: Chittagong Kings is still on top of the points table as it easily defeated Barisal Burners by eight wickets with 44 balls remaining on the seventh day of the Bangladesh Premier League here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.

Chasing an easy target of 125, Chittagong completed its fourth victory in the tournament in just 12.4 overs to take its points tally to eight.

Opener Nasir Jamshed from Pakistan led the chase with an unbeaten 81 from 47 balls. He struck ten fours and two sixes.

He was ably supported by Jahurul Islam who made 41 off 21 balls with five boundaries and a six.

Both provided a sound start of 97 runs in just nine overs.

Earlier, Chittagong restricted Barisal to 125 for six in the allotted 20 overs after putting it into bat.

Main scorers for Barisal were Brad Hodge (38) and Chris Gayle (30). Gayle smashed three sixes and two fours in a brief stay of 16 balls while Hodge hit two sixes and a four.

Enamul Haq Jr and Kevon Cooper claimed two wickets each for Chittagong.
