KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah on Friday has extended the Rangers period of stay for one year.
The period of stay was extended under Article 147, a spokesman for the Sindh government informed Geo News.
According to sources the PPP leadership had directed CM Sindh to increase the Rangers period of stay which was set to expire on 19 July 2015.
The Sindh government will now write a letter to the centre seeking an extension in the stay of Rangers.
Earlier this month the provincial government approved an extension in the special powers of Rangers under Section-4 of the Anti Terrorism Act 1997 for 30 days.
