Daniel Radcliffe hits back at J.K Rowling's gender beliefs: 'Really sad'

Daniel Radcliffe once again weighed in on J K Rowling’s “really sad” comments about trans people.

The 34-year-old actor’s new comments come after the Harry Potter author said that she won’t forgive him and his co-stars for speaking out against her.

Daniel spoke of Rowling, who is pretty vocal about her views that biological sex is more important than gender identity, in a despondent manner and said that he does not agree with her.

“It makes me really sad, ultimately, because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic,” he told The Atlantic.

While he admitted that Rowling played a major role in getting him the biggest break of his life, Daniel clarified that it still doesn't mean he “owes” his beliefs to her.

He stated, “It makes me really sad, ultimately, because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic.”

'Jo, obviously Harry Potter would not have happened without her, so nothing in my life would have probably happened the way it is without that person. But that doesn't mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life,” Daniel insisted.
