KARACHI: Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Monday filed an appeal against Karachi’s new delimitation of constituencies in the Sindh High Court (SHC), Geo News reported.
Talking to media after filing the petition in the court, MQM Deputy Convener, Farooq Sattar said that any sort of delimitation, at this late stage, when the election schedule has already been announced and the election process started, could not be done.
Farooq Sattar in his petition seeking court's intervention has prayed for a stay order against delimitation.
Barrister Farogh Naseem assisting Farooq Sattar said that delimitation a few days ahead of the elections when the schedule has already been announced and election process started was not only in contravention of the Supreme Court order but also against the law.
