Match delayed for late arrival of TV commentator

GOLD COAST, Australia: It could have made for interesting reading in the sports pages: Gold Coast vs. St. George Illawarra, match delayed, TV commentator late.

As it was, Sunday's National Rugby League game between the Titans and the Dragons got under way 14 minutes late because veteran Network Nine commentator Ray Warren wasn't in the building.

Warren's one-hour flight from Sydney to Coolangatta airport on the Gold Coast was delayed by fog in Sydney. Then Warren, who has a fear of flying, needed a chartered helicopter to reach the stadium in time for the rescheduled kickoff.
